We founded Hoop Partners in 2012 as an independent asset management (AM) firm. Prior to this, I served as the Representative Director of Japan at a global real estate AM company. During the aftermath of the 2009 global financial crisis, I began reflecting on the next steps for the industry. "How can we leverage real estate securitization, a tool originally introduced to manage non-performing loans, to create a model that sustainably enhances both the social and financial value of real estate?" This question sparked the vision that led to the founding of Hoop Partners.
Japan has transitioned from rapid economic growth to maturity, now facing the challenges of a declining birthrate and aging population. To ensure the continued vitality of local communities, it is essential that real estate, as a key pillar of social infrastructure, evolves accordingly. Our mission is to foster vibrant communities through real estate innovation, while delivering attractive returns to our investors.
Since its establishment, we have applied our unique insights and expertise to optimize and enhance real estate assets, with a focus on commercial properties and R&D facilities. By transforming existing assets to meet evolving demands, we have created numerous "Hoops"—symbolizing our commitment to expanding the circle of benefit for both local communities and investors. This ethos is reflected in our name, Hoop Partners, which embodies our mission to broaden the circle of prosperity for all stakeholders.
Looking ahead, we will further commit to expanding this "Hoop" across new regions and sectors. Through real estate value creation, we will continue striving to build a better future.
